My name is Avis and I am a friend of Janet's sister Valanie.
First of all I would like to express my deepest sympathy to Janet's family. You are always in my prayers. I have been following this case from the start. I am happy that an arrest has been made in Janet's murder after almost 5 years. I know with prayer and faith in the Lord that justice will follow. I just hope that after everything is done that your family will be able to find closure and move on. Janet will live on in your hearts always.

I have followed the news of Janet's untimely death since April of 2005. I find peace of mind in the thought that justice will be served as I read of the events that have unfolded in February 2010.
My sympathy is entended to Janet's family for the sadness and trauma they have had to endure. May justice be fulfilled! Bill W.

My name is Lisa. I went to Southern Virginia from 1998-1999 and knew both Janet and Raven. I played volleyball. My friend Nicole Ivins and I went there together. Nicole has kept in touch with people from school more than I have and she told me of Janet's story a few months ago then again on Wednesday when she found out that Ravan was arrested. My heart has been sick for your family and for Janet's baby Kaiden. You are in my thoughts and prayers. I have lost my father and brother in airplane crashes and know that no words can take away the pain, but it does help to know that they are in a better place. I hope that you will have some closure and I am deeply sorry for the loss of Janet.

I was Kaiden's Kindergarten teacher while he was living in Montpelier. What a little angel boy he is! In the short time that I was his teacher, I really grew to love him. It makes me happy to know that there are so many people who love him and will take good care of him. Please remind him often that I will be thinking of him with love.

I have waited for this day for a long 5ys,Janet was my friend a very special friend, pure and innocent, I have missed talking and seeing her every day she has been gone from us, I have waited for Raven to be arrested and held accountable for what he did.
I feel like i can take a deep breath for once, I wake up every day hoping for this and praying and it happen, So now i will continue to pray that The family will get custody of Kadien and he can really know what an excellent and loving mother he had.....and family he has been missing.

I am a friend of Cathy Cheek and have been following this story all along. I am so glad to hear that that jerk has finally been arrested!! He deserves the death penalty, but rotting in jail will be good enough! God Bless your family and may justice finally be served for Janet. And God bless Vanessa for enduring this horrible nightmare and coming forward to help Janet!

I just wanted to let you know your story has really hit home to me I could not imagine what you must be feeling in your hearts so much sadness for so long and now knowing that it really was raven how terrifying. I have been very interested in your story because I am from the small town of Montpelier where he was arrested i lived just a street over from where he was arrested. My mother is the secertary at the elementary school where your little Kaiden attended Kindergarden. Raven plaid volleyball on a city league with my brother and sister its just so scary. Im glad he was caught and I hope it can help you let go. You are deeply in my thoughts and prayers especially little Kaiden...
